Moving on, our system/state has started Common Core this year. As much as I read about it on everyone's lovely blogs, it is still pretty overwhelming when you start. We've been working hard to get it going and I think we're doing well.
Then yesterday, my friend Heather Shelton from Mrs. Shelton's Kindergarten posted about this new Kindergarten Common Core workbook. Have you seen this thing?
I first downloaded the preview to look into this a little bit and fell in love with the graphics, because they are from my favorite place Scrappin' Doodles! Okay, not all of them are, but there are tons of cute ones there.
I know clip art should not be my focus, but in kindergarten, it's gotta look cute right?!
The workbook includes over 600 pages of worksheets, center activities and posters that are broken up by the standard. It includes both Language Arts and Math. The preview included Questions for Reading Comprehension in bright color cards. The vocabulary cards were also great because they could match words to pictures depending on the sound. In math for the Kindergarten preview, there were number cards 1-10 that also gave the number word, tally mark and object to show the number.
It looks amazing and I think it will be a great help for us who are just getting started with Common Core. The book is $39.99, however, until September 16th, if you are a blogger, you can receive a copy of this amazing book for FREE! Just go HERE to find out about how you can do it! Totally worth it!
