Someone New Sunday

This week I would like for you to meet Cindy Foreman
That's her standing with her husband, 3 kids and her father.

Cindy is in charge of the blog

She is from Orlando Florida.

Grade you teach:
Kindergarten (next year will be my 9th year teaching kinder, I have taught 3rd grade for 2 years and I taught 4th grade for 2 years, but I always find my way back to kindergarten)

How long have you been teaching?
2012-2013 will be my 13th year teaching

What is your teaching "style"?
My teaching style, I think is best described as structured but fun. I love using music and games and creating new ways to help my students learn.

What is your most memorable teaching moment?
In the past 12 years, I have had so many wonderful and memorable teaching moments and I think that my most memorable teaching moment(s) is always when I see the spark...I see a sweet baby who came to me at the beginning of the year without the knowledge of a single letter or sound - reading a book to me at the end of the year. Watching them learn to read and the excitement they have when they start to "get it"
One of my funniest teaching moments came from one of my kinder-babies about 7 years ago. One of my little girls was always a little surly in the mornings, so for her to be a little snippy to the other students first thing in the morning was not out of character for her. One day, she was the line leader and as we were walking to our classroom from the morning waiting area, I was walking near the back of the line and I could see her turn around and snarl out something to the student behind her who would then turn around and look at me with a very confused look on his face. This happened about 3 times before I could make my way to the front of the line to see what was going on. As I walked up behind her, she turned her head a 4th time and I could finally hear what my surly little line leader was saying. She was telling the boy behind her, "quit following me!" Lol!

Why do you blog?
I blog to share ideas and to share about teaching the good and the bad. I have always tried to seek out ways to share ideas with teachers from all over. I have been part of email groups and have followed teacher websites for many many years and it seemed that blogging was the next logical step.

Where else can we find you?

Please go and check Mrs. Cindy out and send her some blog lovin'!
