Say What You Want Saturday!

Well it is the LAST Saturday of 2011!

How cool is it that we start the first day of 2012 on the first day of the week?

For some reason I just really realized that...hmmm??!!

This last week has been a doozy in the blogging world for yours truly.

Starting with the awful clip art debacle with DJ Inkers.  

Back and forth and back and forth...make up your minds!

Anywho, needless to say, my freebies WILL be coming back but I will have them in a different place.  I'm going to start a few pages with freebies...Literacy, Math and Themes

I think this will be the easiest way.

So other things that happened...My mom had minor surgery Thursday and I was with her most of the morning.  She is doing fine.

I had a nerve test done Friday...ugh! Not a great experience...I asked the nurse if this was what it was like to be tazored and he said..i don't know i try to stay on the right side of the law, cause I know this don't feel so good.

He was right..it didn't feel good and I can still feel the tingles up and down my arm today.

The result as you may have read yesterday was Tennis Elbow...HAHAHAHAHA!

This from a girl who maybe touched a racket maybe 10 times in her life and that was just for fun WAY back when I was in 8th and 9th grade.

So..main cause - TAKE HEED LADIES! - improper use of keyboarding AND sleeping on my side.

Did you see that!  When your hands/arms aren't supported and you are constantly in front of a computer...tada! You get tennis elbow...Now I do admit that I've done much more...playing piano, clarinet, 5 year job before teaching as payroll asst. who did nothing but 10-key numbers ALL day!

Okay..so this post is getting a lot longer than I intended...sorry!

Pros from this week...yes, I do get to keep my freebies.

I finished my Project Life and plan to start it up again tomorrow for 2012.

I am now authoring/co-authoring/contributing to FOUR blogs and this is after I've already deleted my personal blog...ha because of no time!

Last 3in30 check in for 2011!

Wow!  I can't believe that I made it through an entire year with our 3 in 30 group! I only skipped one month and am very proud of myself.  

To all of you who participated, Thank You So Much for getting on my blog and commenting and sending words of encouragement.  You all tremendously ROCK! 

I am so excited to be starting 2012 off in a great direction.

Here is how the end of December has gone.

1. Finish my goal from November.

I finished the part from November and got my closet purged, then I moved on to Clint's closet and it has been purged.  So yes, technically this one is DONE!  However, there is still one more closet that I want to get too and I still technically have one more day to do it! 

2. Work on re-vamping my Uppercase Living Business.

Did not get it done, but really I'm okay with that.  I have come to realize that my second "job" is not my life.  Taking care of my home, my husband and putting time in to pray and study is what's more important.  I am lucky to be with a company that doesn't jump down my back for a monthly or quarterly quota. If I sell, I sell. If I don't, I don't!

And that's that!

3. Finish up my Project Life .

All I have to do is add pictures from our New Year's Eve tomorrow and I am DONE!!!  I know I didn't finish this the way I wanted to with a picture for everyday, but I think I did well at taking pictures throughout each month and really LOVE how this turned out.  I think this time around I might try it online though and not have to worry about writing so much.

I was actually just diagnosed with tennis elbow TODAY (which accounts for me getting on at 6p.m. to write this - the nerve test totally bites and my hand has been numb most of the afternoon) and writing just kills my wrist..so does typing, but it's not as bad.

I think I've had a pretty decent end to 2011!

Goal 1 - 31 Days to Pray for Your Spouse Challenge

I am joining Mrs. Ashley Pichea in a spiritual challenge that I am so excited to do. 

How hard is it to take 5 minutes out of your day to send a prayer to the Lord on behalf of your husband? I want and need to do this challenge, not just for my sake but for my husbands as well.  I want to strive to be a good influence to him and show him how important God is to me by praying about how good he is to and for me.

We start with a welcome post on January 1! I want this plan to succeed.  It is a blog written by myself and currently 4 other ladies.  We are going to take you through the daily struggles of losing weight AND encourage and motivate each other along the way.

Removing Many of My Freebies - Sad Day!

I am so glad that I follow Tammy over at Live, Love, Laugh Everyday In Kindergarten (p.s. if you don't, you should!) on Facebook.

She let me know that sad news that DJ Inkers has modified their Terms of Use.

She was nice enough to let us use her graphics as long as they were in PDF format and were free. That has now changed.  I am sorry to my new followers (I just got 10 in the past 2 days!) as you look through my posts hoping for freebies and there are none.

I have removed anything that has ANY graphic that was from a DJ Inkers cd.

I have also removed all of my documents from Scribd and Google Docs.

I still have a few things out there, but man does this put a kink in my system!

So bare with me for the next few days as I figure out what to do to get the goods out to all of y'all in bloggy land.

And if you have freebies that you have done, PLEASE delete them from your blog.

It's been rumored that a few have been turned in on TPT and have had their stores closed.

This one is pretty easy.  I've loved this series since it's creation and this year was no different.  It has to be Glee!

8. Favorite new thing you tried:

I tried to get into a new school this year for the first time and I succeeded!  I've never been happier and LOVE my job even more. I also jumped on the Kindergarten Blog wagon after having a personal one for awhile and have LOVED the results...haven't you? =)

 

7. Favorite gift you got:

The best gift...my nephew Jameson back in April. 

 

6. Favorite thing you pinned:

 I liked this one so much that I got one for myself...now do I have a Pinterest Addiction or what?!

5. Favorite blog post:

I guess this is one of my favorite posts that I did??  Not sure.  But my best one I think was my Calendar Time that I posted for a Math Monday a couple months ago.  It seemed to be a big hit and many of you got some great ideas from it.  I'm actually revamping my calendar next week to include estimation and more graphing!  I can't wait to get started!

4. Best accomplishment:

I finished up my Project Life book actually about 5 minutes ago.  I ordered the last group of pictures besides the last few that will be taken New Year's Eve and all I have to do is plug them into their rightful place!  And if you don't know what Project Life is, click the picture.

2. Favorite memory:

There are so many memories from this past year.  I don't know where to begin!

Some of the highlights:

January - my birthday was shared with Jackie and we went to Texas de Brazil

February - surprising my hubby most of the month with little gifts

March - Clint's first visit to Chattanooga.  I love going places where he's never been.  It makes it more fun!

April - My nephew  Jameson was born.

May - Out of School!

June - Got the call that I was hired at a new school and still got to teach kindergarten.

July - family reunion

August - new school year at a new school

September - crazy bad storms again...had me hiding in the hallway!

October - My first retreat with the ladies from Sweet Adelines

November - Thanksgiving with family.

December - Christmas with family

 

1. Goal for 2012:

I am starting a new project with 3 other friends.  We are starting a weight loss blog to journal about our journey through losing a few pounds and getting to a healthy lifestyle.  As soon as it gets started I will post a link.  My goal is that we stick with this throughout the year and encourage each other to live healthy lives, not only for ourselves but the ones we love and hope to love someday (i.e. trying to get preggers and this will help!)

 

I think that's it...wow! That took longer than I thought!

Merry Day After Christmas To Me

I slept in until 11 again.  Got up, took a shower then decided to do a little laundry and get the kitchen back in order.  Walked into the laundry room and there is water all over the floor.  Luckily it had not spread throughout the entire room.  There were towels about to be washed that stopped some of it.

My lovely in-laws gave us a couple hefty gift cards to go to Home Depot to help get our floors finished...but now it looks like we get to buy a new water heater instead!  Yay! 

This happened last year too, not with the water heater though...last year we were wanting a new floor (yes I've had concrete in my house for over a year...money, time, economy being major issues..husband being unemployed has been an issue too) but our dryer went out.  I can live with the concrete, because some appliances are a necessity.  Hot Water in the winter definitely being one of those!

Looks like we're waiting again on the flooring...Merry Christmas to me!

Besides this morning, I've had a wonderful holiday and have enjoyed being with family.  We still have one more get together this afternoon then it's on to New Year's and back to work. My how two weeks flies by!

One quick share that is school related...my niece got a spin off version of Ants in the Pants for Christmas.  This one is is called Ants in the Can with Oscar the Grouch!  How cute.  I'm excited to get some ideas going.  When we study the letter O, I usually do "Oscar's Birthday". How neat to come up with some center ideas for that day including a few with this game.

3in30

1. Finish my goal from November.

My goal from November was to purge my closet and this week I get to say....Yay!  My closet is done and Clint's is done.  I just need to hit the front closet and this one is complete.

2. Work on re-vamping my Uppercase Living Business.

I've not really been motivated to do this one.  I'll get to it this week (hopefully). The holidays, family, cleaning, baking...have been a little more important.

3. Finish up my Project Life .

I have not really stuck to the plan, but I got 2 months of pictures done and into a folder for printing.  I wrote journal cards for these months too.  I've got nothing going on tonight, until a late night grocery trip (not as crowded) so I hope to get one more month done.  This may not be complete by the end of the month, but a HUGE dent will be made.

I am already looking forward to the new year and am excited to be spending it with new blog friends that I have made through 3in30.

You Ladies Rock!

Rainy Thursday..a lot like Rainy Monday

Today was as rainy as Monday and it made me as lazy.

I slept in until 11..but to my defense, I stayed up until 2am deep cleaning my room and closets, had a bad dream (yes, 30 something adults can still have bad dreams that keep you awake!) around 4am and couldn't go back to sleep until about 5:30.

So, sleeping until 11 was absolutely necessary.

Anyway, I got up, got ready and met my friend Ashley for some lunch and conversation.  

(we, along with 3 others, are starting a weight loss journey blog in January <---very excited!)

Lunch turned into sitting around for a couple of hours talking, then ended up coming over to my house to get my hubby to paint something for her.

We are still hanging out and having a good time, so I thought I would take a quick break to say hi to my bloggy friends...and show off how lazy I've been today.

Not a thing to be done!  How great is Christmas Break!

There are some VERY creative peeps out there this week.

I'll start with one that I pinned from First Grade Fabulosity (my featured Someone New Sunday from this past week).  I love this idea of a game board and you can make it interchangeable.  You better believe that I picked up a poster board while I was out today.  I'm going to get it all dolled up and ready for the laminator when I return to work on the 2nd!

I had every intention of going out and finishing my Christmas shopping today, but the rain and sleep won out.  You know that every time you are at work on a rainy day you wish you could be home snuggled under the covers still snoozing to the sound of raindrops outside...well that wish came true for me today.

I will do my shopping tomorrow when I HAVE to get out for another doctor's appointment anyway.

It just makes more sense..right?!

I've not been all lazy though.  I finally decided to get up around 11ish, took a shower, ate lunch, watched a movie...then came into the office to finish up a freebie for you!

Currently in December

I am SO excited! 

It's Monday and I did not have an alarm set and I slept in until 9ish.

I've had my oatmeal, juice and coffee and I'm still in my pj's.

I have a doctor's appointment to follow up on new meds and then get to come home and bake.

So, kind of a busy Monday, but at least I don't have the craziness of the classroom.

I've been seeing these CURRENTLY posts all over the place and found a new blog today.

Well, she's not new, just new to me. I usually follow just the lower elementary blogs, but this one is pretty neat.

I am loving this blog!  And now I'm linking up with her and my own "currently" in December.

Someone New Sunday

This is the last Someone New Sunday feature of 2011!  I have really enjoyed this feature and have enjoyed meeting so many new great bloggers.  I can't believe that I can call you all new because I still feel new at this myself.  I've been blogging for 2 years, but only started Kinder Kraziness this past June.  Thank you all so much for supporting my blog and for supporting the new bloggers that I've brought to you.

What is your teaching "style"?  

I have a more student-lead classroom. I love giving my students options on their activities and ways to show/share their learning. Now, giving many options isn't always the best way, but I do it as often as possible. I like to have my students explore, experience, and create their own learning through hands-on, creative, and engaging activities. :)

Why do you blog? 

I want to share my creativity with others. I love when another teacher comes into my room and says, "Hey, that's cool.. I want to try that." I want to create new things and have other teachers be excited about sharing these ideas in their classrooms, too. Blogging gives me a chance to share with others besides my teammates!

What has been one of your favorite moments when teaching?   

I don't think I can pick just one. My favorite moments in teaching are when my students show pure excitement and really enjoy their learning. This has happened many a times when parents have emailed me after their child has come home and just bragged and bragged about the cool things they have learned that day, when my students pass other students in the hallway and start sharing the 'cool' stuff they learned in class, or when they say "awww" when we have to close up an activity. I also love to see when my students are about to begin an activity and they just can't help but skip back to their seats. It just shows their joy and happiness. :) It puts a smile on my face.
